¡Hola a todos! I’m Taya, a native-level speaker of Spanish originally from the UK and a qualified online English and Spanish language tutor based in Toledo, Spain.

Since my first exposure to Spanish in high school, it quickly became my biggest passion, and I set myself the goal of becoming fluent. This journey led me to study Hispanic Studies at university and spend my summers between Spain and Portugal teaching, au pairing, and completing an integrated year abroad interning in Barcelona.

Upon graduating and obtaining my language teaching certificate, I followed my heart back to Spain to build a life here. After an initial career in digital and social marketing—and having reached my goal of becoming a fluent and fully integrated member of Spanish society—it is now my greatest pleasure and motivation to help others gain the same autonomy and enjoyment from such a rich language and culture.

My own experience as a language learner means I understand both the academic and mental hurdles you might face (and overcome!) along the way. I’m an enthusiastic and friendly professional, passionate about helping students improve their language skills through a journey tailored to their needs and interests. I pride myself on making my classes dynamic and interactive so it hardly feels like studying!

In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga and improving my roller skating skills. I love traveling and getting lost in the streets of new places with my camera, soaking up the energy and culture of new communities. Having grown up in the English countryside, I’m also a big nature lover and a keen hiker. But most of all, nothing makes me happier than speaking Spanish out in the world and making meaningful connections with others.
