Jessica A.

Spanish & ESL Instructor

Hello! My name is Jessica A., and I come from Mexico. I was raised in the sunny city of Querétaro. I have a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and worked in editorial design for a few years. When I was 24, I did an internship at a Graphic Design agency in the amazing country of Japan. Part of my responsibilities included teaching English to my coworkers, and in my free time, I taught Spanish to locals and expats. From that moment on, I fell in love with teaching languages, traveling, and sharing my culture with others.

As soon as I came back home, I earned a certification to teach Spanish as a foreign language, saved up a little, and moved back to Japan to work in a language school. After Japan, I lived and worked in Canada, France, and Vietnam. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and learn from wonderful mentors, coworkers, and students. During this time, I also worked at a high-profile university in Mexico as a language assistant in the Language Department. I’ve enjoyed each and every moment!

Currently, I teach Spanish and English online while studying a 2-year Ed.S. in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, endorsed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

In addition to teaching languages, I enjoy traveling, diving (I’m a certified diver!), taking pictures, and watching documentaries. In the future, I’d love to speak French and Japanese fluently!

I’d love to meet you and get to know your dreams, aspirations, and goals. Let’s learn Spanish together! Using a communicative approach, we’ll develop your listening, writing, speaking, and reading skills. We’ll have interesting and engaging classes where you can share your thoughts and challenge yourself. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
