Caylee H.
Hello! My name is Caylee, and I’m originally from Busan, South Korea.
I have been teaching Korean for over 10 years, working with students from all walks of life—ranging from young beginners taking their very first steps in the language to U.S. military personnel who needed Korean for their work.
My teaching journey has taken me across the world. I earned my master’s degree in Law while living in Japan, where I spent nearly seven years, and I also lived in the United States for about eight years in Nebraska, Tennessee, California, and Washington. These experiences gave me a broad cultural perspective and shaped me into a flexible, empathetic teacher who understands the needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.
In my classes, I believe language learning should be meaningful, motivating, and enjoyable. I focus on interactive, real-life practice that helps students move beyond memorization and feel confident expressing their own thoughts and personalities in Korean. Because every learner has unique goals, I design lessons that are personalized, supportive, and engaging.
Students often describe me as warm, patient, and encouraging. I see mistakes as valuable opportunities for growth, and I always strive to create a positive classroom environment where learners feel comfortable experimenting with the language.
Fun fact: I’m from Busan, a vibrant city known for its beaches, seafood, and friendly energy! I also love sharing insights about Korean culture and daily life, while drawing on my international experiences in Japan and the U.S. to make lessons relatable and fun.
I am truly excited to support you on your Korean journey—whether your dream is to travel to Korea, connect with Korean culture, or achieve advanced fluency. Together, we’ll make the process both enjoyable and rewarding!
