Middle School Courses
LanguageBird provides the opportunity to master world languages online, at your own pace, and on your own time, while earning high school credits that can be used toward graduation requirements and college admissions.
Our programs are fully accredited by WASC and Cognia, and courses are approved by the NCAA and University of California. This makes us a perfect match for students seeking an advanced level of proficiency, studying a language not offered at their school, or needing to accelerate their learning.
The Middle School Core Program
This accredited pathway is tailored for learners who are confident in learning a language more independently. It provides a basic language foundation, enabling students to excel in their high school language course.

Interactive, one-to-one, project-based lessons focused on conversation, bringing language and culture to life.

Full-Year (24 instructional lessons) or Semester (12 instructional lessons).
Middle School Core Course
Ideal for students who want to follow a traditional school-year schedule, spend more time with their instructor to explore the curriculum in greater depth or sharpen their skills, or get back on track after previous course challenges.

Chirp Room® Chat Rooms: Conversation Practice
These are small-group chat sessions moderated by a LanguageBird instructor. They provide a supportive, no-homework environment to practice speaking and are open to all language learners.

Tutoring, Test Prep, and Conversational Lessons
We offer customized support to strengthen skills, boost grades, or confidently prepare for exams like AP, IB, SAT Subject Tests, and the Global Seal of Biliteracy.
Tutoring, Test Prep, and Conversational Lessons are also great for students preparing to travel. (Available in packages of 6, 12, 18, and 24 lessons).
Summer 2026 Programs: Make Your Summer Count
LanguageBird offers flexible summer program options to help students earn credit, prevent learning loss, catch up, or build conversational skills. Students can typically begin their summer program in May or June.
Programs generally available include:
- Courses for Credit (Semester or Full Year)
- Tutoring, Test Prep, and Conversational Lessons
- Global Seal of Biliteracy Exam (for learners over 13 years old)
Chirp Room® Chat Rooms
At Chirp Room our learners can participate in small-group sessions moderated by a native-level instructor and meet your “flock” to practice speaking in a supportive, no-homework environment.
